James 1: 19-20: My dear brothers, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, for man's anger does not bring about the righteous life that God desires.
James is one of my favorite books in the bible. Today I am finding these verses to be even more true. Work can get frustrating sometimes. Sometimes it can feel like people aren't listening. Then when they finally do something I want to tell them 'see, that's what I said'. But then I think of this part of James 1 and stop.
People tend to have to do things there way even if someone tells them the way it is done, where something is, how something has changed. It isn't until they see it for them selves or or someone else tells them the same thing that it makes sense. Why is that though?
We know not to question God. Maybe we hold in all our questions from him then we turn around and make up more questions and unsure things for others. Why not go ahead and have faith in others? Why is faith in those that we can see harder to come by than faith for God, someone that we can only feel his presence and not physically see him. God will always be there though. So when the times come when the angry words want to come out instead I need to take them to God instead of making the situation worse by saying them out loud. There will always be one that will undoubtedly listen even if we can't physically see them.
Hmmm....kinda needed that ;)
