Reflecting His Glory

Last night was the first night of a new women's study at my church.  It is called Reflecting His Glory and it was written AND being lead by Andrea Lennon.

You can check out her site here.

Reflecting His Glory is a 7 week study.    The whole study focuses on one verse.

Romans 12:2 - "Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.  Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is---his good, pleasing, and perfect will."

Each week different parts of the verse will be examined.
Week 1-"Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world..."
Week 2-4-"...but be transformed..."
Week 5-"...by the renewing of your mind."
Week 6-7-"...Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is---his good, pleasing and perfect will."
I look forward to the next 7 weeks and what God has in store for me to learn.

To Be Happy and Content

I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances.  Philippians 4:11

The last several months we have been talking about Moses in the first grade Sunday school that I help teach.  One of the lessons has really stuck with me.

I'm sure I'm not the only one that has wished things to be different.  Different clothes.  Different job.  Maybe you just wish things wouldn't feel like they are always falling a part.

Piecing Life Together

May God himself, the God who makes everything holy and whole, make you holy and whole, put you together-spirit, soul, and body-and keep you fit for the coming of our Master, Jesus Christ. 1Thessalonians 5:23

I have this book called 100 Favorite Bible Verses but it doesn’t say who the author is but I like the analogy that it put with the verse above.

A jigsaw puzzle is made up of multiple parts. It is only when these parts are put together, when the puzzle is whole and complete, that you see the picture it was designed to display. Your life is the same way. Your life is made up of many complex components: family life, job, hobbies, physical health, emotional state, present circumstances, past experiences, hopes for the future, relationship with God. It would be easy to feel that your life is fragmented, like unconnected pieces of a puzzle that don’t seem to fit. But, that isn’t the way you were designed.

The Rainbow Promise

Unfortunately this is isn't a photo that I took but I still really like it. Seeing a rainbow is always that reminder that God left for us that he would never flood the earth like he did when Noah built the ark.

Slow to Speak and Slow to Become Angry

James 1: 19-20: My dear brothers, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, for man's anger does not bring about the righteous life that God desires.

James is one of my favorite books in the bible. Today I am finding these verses to be even more true. Work can get frustrating sometimes. Sometimes it can feel like people aren't listening. Then when they finally do something I want to tell them 'see, that's what I said'. But then I think of this part of James 1 and stop.

A Positive Movement

It is said that it only takes one. One person to start something, to influence others. This is saying is true and it is something that unfortunately not everyone takes advantage of to use in a positive way.

Rachelle Lefevre is taking advantage of starting a positive movement. Right now Rachelle is most well known for playing the bad vamp., Victoria, in Twilight, the soon to be released New Moon, and in the soon to be filmed Eclipse. She has also had some other roles in her career that I personally have been a fan of like: Stacey Hanson in Big Wolf on Campus, Eloise in See Jane Date, and Georgia in Picking Up & Dropping Off to name a few.

Needing one more day

Tomorrow I will talk to them

Tomorrow I will help save them

Tomorrow, Tomorrow I will do it then

Tomorrow I will save the world

Tomorrow I will save myself

Tomorrow, Tomorrow I will do it then
